The short answer

How to advertise to Serbian Americans without a media buyer

Serbian American newspapers, radio and TV in the US do not publish rate cards online, so most brands reach the community through church festivals: a lawn sign at a Pittsburgh area festival costs $100, a half page in the San Diego Serbian Festival program comes with a $150 sponsorship, and SerbFest Chicago sells sponsorships from $500 to $10,000.

A MissSlavic sponsorship costs $169 to $4,390 a month and puts your logo on a pageant site built around women of Serbian and other Slavic heritage, including the Serbia leaderboard and contestant profiles.

You book and pay online, the placement switches on automatically and runs every month you pay for, not for one festival weekend, and you can stop at the end of any paid month.

Where your brand appears

What a sponsorship puts in front of Serbian American visitors

Every placement below is on the live site and turns on automatically when your payment clears. The higher the tier, the more pages carry your logo.

Sponsor wall

Your logo and link on the sponsors page, which every tier includes. It is the page contestants and their families check to see who backs the pageant.

Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia boards

From Silver up, your logo sits on the country leaderboards, including the Serbia, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina boards that voters open to follow the women they support.

Contestant profiles

From Gold up, your logo appears on contestant pages. Those are the pages a contestant sends to her family, her kolo group and her parish friends when she asks for votes.

Rotating ad screens

Gold and above also rotate your creative through the ad screens across the site, so your brand is seen away from the sponsor pages too.

Twelve months, not one weekend

SerbFest runs for a weekend in August and most parish festivals for a day or two. An online placement keeps running every month you pay for, including the eleven months between festivals.

Gala and naming rights

Platinum adds gala backdrop presence and a VIP slot. Title adds naming rights. These are delivered by our team rather than switched on by the site.

The audience

Where Serbian Americans live

The Census Bureau counted 176,643 people of Serbian ancestry in its 2024 American Community Survey, plus 217,949 who still report their ancestry as Yugoslavian, a group that includes many Serbs. About 256,900 people speak Serbo-Croatian at home (Serbian, Croatian and Bosnian together), and 31 percent of them speak English less than very well. Many families arrived after 1990, so the community is younger and more recently immigrated than most Slavic groups in the US.

State Serbian ancestry (2024 ACS) Largest metro and language
Illinois 21,719 Chicago metro 24,334 of Serbian ancestry; 28,051 Serbo-Croatian speakers in the state
Ohio 17,395 Cleveland metro 5,400
Pennsylvania 16,156 Pittsburgh metro 10,934
California 14,898 Los Angeles metro 5,263; 23,633 Serbo-Croatian speakers
Florida 11,424 15,421 Serbo-Croatian speakers
Michigan 8,222 9,726 Serbo-Croatian speakers
New York 7,320 New York metro 8,225; 27,044 Serbo-Croatian speakers

Source: US Census Bureau, American Community Survey 2024 1-year estimates, tables B04006 (ancestry) and B16001 (language spoken at home). The Chicago metro figure crosses into Indiana and Wisconsin, which is why it is larger than the Illinois total. Wisconsin (7,021, Milwaukee metro 4,980) and Texas (6,992) follow. Serbo-Croatian speaker counts include Croatian and Bosnian speakers, so they are not a Serbian-only figure.

Ways to advertise to Serbian Americans, with published prices

We read each organizer's own sponsorship page, packet or form before listing it. Serbian American papers, radio and TV publish no rate cards online, so they are left out rather than guessed. Festival prices are per event.

Option Published price What you get Best for
MissSlavic sponsorship $169 to $4,390 / month, yearly = 10 months Logo on a Slavic pageant site: sponsor wall, Serbia and other country boards, contestant pages, ad screens Beauty, bridal, fashion, travel and heritage brands that want women of Serbian descent across the US
SerbFest Chicago $500 to $10,000 per festival Silver $500, Gold $1,000, Platinum $2,500, Diamond $5,000, Royal $10,000; the festival says its mailings reach over 1,800 families Chicagoland businesses that want the largest Serbian crowd in the US
San Diego Serbian Festival $150 to $1,000 per festival Emerald $150 and Sapphire $250 with a half-page program ad, Diamond $500 full page, Platinum $1,000 adds the website Southern California businesses that want a printed program ad
A Taste of Serbia (McKeesport, PA) $100 to $500 per festival 2026 form: lawn sign $100, placemat business card $150, Silver $250, Entertainment $500 Pittsburgh area businesses on a small budget
Serb Fest (Charlotte, NC) $100 to $1,500 per festival; add-ons $50 2026 program: banner $100, levels from $250 with a 10x10 exhibition space, Level 5 names you as presenter Carolinas businesses that want a booth and a banner
Serb Fest Naples (FL) $500 to $1,500 and up 2026 levels: Bronze $500 name and logo, Silver $1,000 banners and signage, Gold $1,500+ Southwest Florida businesses
SerbFest Merrillville golf outing (IN) $100 to $1,500 per event 2026 form: hole sponsor $100, premier sponsor $1,500 Northwest Indiana businesses whose buyers golf

Where the others win: if you run a restaurant in Chicago or a law office near Pittsburgh, a SerbFest booth puts you face to face with more of the community in one weekend than we do, and a $100 lawn sign costs less than a month with us. We are the better fit when your customer is a woman of Serbian heritage anywhere in the US and you want your logo in front of her every month, next to beauty, style, weddings or travel.

Questions buyers ask

Frequently asked questions about advertising to Serbian Americans

Published festival prices run from $100 for a lawn sign or a golf hole sponsor to $150 to $1,000 for a San Diego festival package with a program ad and $500 to $10,000 at SerbFest Chicago. A MissSlavic sponsorship costs $169 to $4,390 a month and runs all year.

The Census Bureau estimated 176,643 people of Serbian ancestry in the US in 2024. Another 217,949 reported Yugoslavian ancestry, which includes many Serbs, and about 256,900 people speak Serbo-Croatian at home, a figure that also counts Croatian and Bosnian speakers.

Illinois has the most people of Serbian ancestry (21,719 in 2024), followed by Ohio (17,395), Pennsylvania (16,156), California (14,898) and Florida (11,424). The Chicago metro area alone counts 24,334, and Pittsburgh 10,934.

Yes, there are Serbian American papers, a Chicago Serbian radio program and Serbian TV channels, but none of them publishes an advertising rate card online, so you have to ask each one for a quote. Church festivals are the outlets that publish prices.

For one city, sponsor the local Serbian Orthodox parish festival, where families turn out in person. For women of Serbian descent across the country, a site built around their heritage keeps your logo in front of them every month, in English, which second-generation Serbian Americans read every day.

When a business pays for a logo placement to promote its products, it is usually booked as an advertising expense rather than a charitable gift. Note that several festivals describe their sponsorships as donations. Every MissSlavic payment comes with an invoice. Confirm the treatment for your business with your accountant.

Yes. You cancel from the sponsor panel and the placement stays live until the end of the period you already paid for. Nothing renews after that.
