The short answer

What beauty pageant sponsorship costs a small business

Local US pageants publish small business sponsor levels from about $35 to $2,500 per event. A sash or trophy sponsor at a chamber pageant costs $35 to $100, an entry tier at a college or state pageant $50 to $500, and a named sponsor of a festival queen pageant $750. Those prices buy one weekend and one program book.

MissSlavic sells the same kind of entry placement by the month. Bronze costs $169 a month and keeps your logo and link on the public sponsor wall. Silver costs $439 a month and adds your logo to every country leaderboard. Both switch on after the card payment and run until you cancel.

Local pageant or online pageant

Which one fits your business

A local pageant fits when

  • Your customers live within a short drive and you want to meet them face to face at a booth.
  • You want a printed program ad that families keep after the show.
  • You only have budget for one event a year and the date lines up with your busy season.

MissSlavic fits when

  • You sell online or ship nationally, so a crowd in one county is too small.
  • Your customers are women of Polish, Ukrainian, Russian, Czech, Serbian, Croatian or other Slavic heritage.
  • You want a placement that stays up for months, with a link that can bring visitors to your site any day.

Plenty of owners do both: a $100 sash sponsor at the hometown pageant for goodwill, and a monthly tier here for reach.

What your accountant will ask

#1

It is an advertising expense

A sponsorship that puts your logo and link in front of buyers is ordinary and necessary advertising for most businesses, deductible under IRC section 162. Keep the invoice and a screenshot of the placement.

#2

We are not a charity

Some local pageants are 501(c)(3) foundations and send a sponsor acknowledgment letter instead of an invoice. MissSlavic is a commercial pageant, so you get a normal invoice for an advertising purchase.

#3

Billed in US dollars

Your card is charged in US dollars, the same amount you see next to your tier. Book the amount from your card statement, which is the figure your bookkeeper needs.

General information, not tax advice. Ask your CPA how it applies to your business.

Questions

Pageant sponsorship questions small businesses ask

How much does it cost to sponsor a pageant?

Small local pageants list sponsor levels from about $35 to $500, state pageants start around $500 to $1,000, and national pageants start near $2,500 for their lowest package. MissSlavic entry tiers cost $169 a month for Bronze and $439 a month for Silver, billed by card.

What do sponsors get from a beauty pageant?

At an entry level, sponsors usually get their name or logo in the program book, on a sponsor board and on the pageant website, sometimes with a sash or trophy credit. On MissSlavic, Bronze is a logo and link on the sponsor wall, and Silver adds your logo to every country leaderboard.

Is sponsoring a pageant tax deductible for a small business?

Usually yes, as an advertising expense under IRC section 162, when the sponsorship promotes your business to potential customers. If the pageant is a 501(c)(3), part of the payment may be a charitable contribution instead. MissSlavic is commercial, so the full amount is an advertising purchase with an invoice.

How do small businesses sponsor a pageant?

Pick the sponsor level that fits the budget, pay the organizer and send your logo before their print or web deadline. With a local pageant that usually means a form and a check. On MissSlavic you choose a tier, pay by card and upload your logo in the sponsor panel the same day.

What is the cheapest way to sponsor a pageant?

The cheapest published options are category sponsors at small community pageants, such as a $35 sash or a $70 trophy, and entry levels from $50 at college pageants. On MissSlavic, Bronze at $169 a month is the lowest tier, and you can cancel at the end of any month.

Do I have to be near the pageant to sponsor it?

For a local pageant it helps, because most of the value comes from the people in the room. MissSlavic runs online, with voters and contestants across the US and Europe, so a shop that ships nationally or serves a Slavic community gets the same placement wherever it is based.

Can I cancel a monthly sponsorship?

Yes. You can cancel from the sponsor panel at any time, and the placement stays up until the end of the period you already paid for. There is no minimum term on the monthly plan, and the yearly plan simply bills ten months for twelve.
